We are not currently recruiting for any paid positions at Adavu but we ARE looking for volunteers for the following two roles:
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications volunteer and a volunteer Secretary for our Board of Trustees.
Adavu is a registered charity (CIO no. 1199391) which responds to modern slavery in the West Midlands. Our main area of work is offering long-term support and advocacy for adult survivors of modern slavery.
As a volunteer, you will pay a direct contribution in the work we do to tackle the issue of modern slavery and support survivors, whether working with our clients directly or supporting our team.
If you are interested in our roles, we want you to know that:
- Adavu welcomes applicants with the right experience from diverse backgrounds, including people who have personal or lived experience of modern slavery and/or exploitation.
- We also welcome volunteers from outside the EU/EAA, as long as their visa allows voluntary work. You will also need to arrange your own travel and accommodation.
- We are based in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, but some of our volunteer roles are suitable for candidates based elsewhere or want to volunteer from home.
- As part of the Adavu Safer Recruitment policy and procedures, we ask applicants to complete a Self-Declaration Form and, depending on the role, we may also require volunteers to have undertaken an enhanced DBS Check without barring information before starting their volunteer induction.
- A variety of skills can be precious to an organisation like Adavu: you do not need to directly work with out clients to be a vital member of our team!
Benefits of volunteering with us include:
- receive full training, ongoing support and supervision
- be a valued member of our team, and your views and opinions contributing to shape the development of your role and of our work.
- put your skills and time in the service of survivors of modern slavery.
- become part of a warm and enthusiastic teem and you will be invited to take part in all our team social events, picnics, away days and yearly Christmas party!
To apply for one of the roles above or to find out about other opportunities, email Iolanda, our Volunteer Co-cordinator, at gravagnai@adavu.org.uk .
We look forward to hearing from you!
Our volunteer roles are part of a volunteer strategy funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
If neither of these roles appeal to you however, new volunteer roles will be added soon, and we are very keen on hearing from you if you are interested in volunteering with us!
